This is Leicestershire -- A woman driver allegedly involved in an accident which killed two children has appeared before a crown court judge. Sharmila Mistry (41) of Dalby Avenue, Bushby, only spoke to answer her name during an eight-minute hearing held today. She is accused of causing the deaths of one-year-old Oliwier Baczyk and Zofia Tabaka, two, by careless or inconsiderate driving, on August 6 last year. The tragedy happened at the junction of Narborough Road and Braunstone Gate. Mistry's BMW, was believed to be in collision with another vehicle which then mounted the pavement and collided with two push chairs containing babies. Both youngsters died as a result of the accident. Judge Michael Pert QC adjourned the Leicester Crown Court hearing for a case management hearing, at the same court, on October 7. Mistry, wearing a black trouser suit and a blue blouse, was released on bail. Barrister, James Thomas, represented the prosecution, and Nicholas Syfret QC was representing Mistry.
