This is Leicestershire --I don't mind admitting that I filled up with emotion and even shed a few tears on reading the front page story about the X Factor superstar Sam Bailey, right.
As much as my wife and I enjoy the show, we don't normally bother to vote for the contestants.
But on seeing how much energy and dedication Sam put into her performance and being a Leicester lass, we feel she deserves to win and hope the city and county join us in voting for her. Good luck, Sam!

At last, Mr Cameron has listened to the people, he is not going to invade Syria.
What a pity Sir Peter Soulsby does not listen to the people of Leicester. I know absolutely no one who wants Jubilee Square. It will take away valuable parking spaces, which will be bad for shoppers.
Also the taxi drivers in that area are concerned about their livelihood, not to mention the shops. It is going to be another white elephant like Market Corner, which has now disappeared.This project is just to feed one man's ego.

Regarding Julian Wright's letter suggesting I expressed selective royalist views about Prince William being the next king.
It's not because he's young, good looking or gaffe-free, it's just my preference. I am sure he would be a popular choice with the people of this country, too.
