The University of Leicester is investing £2.5 million in a new testing facility.
Called the Advanced Structural Dynamics Evaluation Centre (ASDEC), it will carry out 3D laser analysis for the automotive, aerospace and space industries.
It is being built at the new 1.75 million sq ft enterprise zone site at Mira Technology Park, near Hinckley.
The plan is being supported by the Government's Regional Growth Fund and the European Regional Development Fund.
Mira commercial director Terry Spall said: "The ASDEC facility will create 15 jobs along with 27 indirect roles. It's a welcome addition to our developing transport sector technology cluster."
The centre will have three robot-mounted laser scanners, which measure vibrations on anything from small components to whole vehicles. Reported by This is 4 hours ago.
