Liam Moore cannot wait to get back into action for Leicester City after England call-up This is Leicestershire --

Liam Moore says being called into the England Under-21 squad has further fuelled his desire to be successful with Leicester City.

Moore has spent over a week training with Gareth Southgate's side and, although he wasn't used in either European Championship qualifiers against Finland and San Marino, just being among some of England's most highly-rated young players has made him even more determined to become a regular in the squad.

Moore knows to do that, he must continue to be an ever-present in manager Nigel Pearson's City side and continue his impressive progress.

He said he couldn't wait to get back to business for City at Ipswich on Saturday.

The 20-year-old defender also believes the change of environment has helped expel the memory of defeat to Nottingham Forest in their last fixture.

"It has cranked up my hunger even more being here," said Moore.

"I can't wait to get out there on Saturday, at Ipswich.

"I want to hit the ground running again. It is a bit of a refresher coming away with England. It is a reward but I am going to go back and work even harder.

"Things are going well for me at the moment for club and country. I have to work hard to

stay in the Leicester team and, on top of that, I have to try and break into the England team."

City have gone into each of the three international breaks this season on the back of defeats, but returned to embark on unbeaten runs.

Moore is confident they can do it again at Ipswich.

"We had to put Saturday to bed straight away," he added. "It was disappointing but you have to look at the season overall really. It has been a great season and we can't get too down.

"When we win, we can't get too up as well, but we have to be happy with how we have done so far.

"We have to look at how we have bounced back before. We have to be buzzing for that. The lads will all be ready when it comes to Saturday and Ipswich."

Moore has partnered captain Wes Morgan at the heart of the City defence for most of the season but has switched to right-back while Ritchie De Laet has been out injured.

Marcin Wasilewski has stepped in at centre-back and Moore knows when De Laet returns he faces stiff competition for a starting berth.

"It is something that is in the back of my mind, that there is such strong competition," he said.

"It is good, it is healthy and it is only going to push me on to become a better player.

"If I am in the team, then I have to fight even harder to stay there, and, hopefully, remain there for the rest of the season." Reported by This is 9 hours ago.
