Pearson got the nod ahead of Nottingham Forest chief Billy Davies, Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp, whose side visit Derby on Monday night, and Stuart Gray of Sheffield Wednesday. Dave Bassett, who chairs the Sky Bet manager of the month judging panel, said: "It was a fantastic month for Nigel Pearson which ended with a club record eighth league win in a row. "Leicester have maintained their momentum and they are now in a great position at the top of the Sky Bet Championship." Rams boss Steve McClaren won the manager of the month prize for December.
