The former Dean of Leicester Cathedral has received abusive letters regarding the fight for Richard III's remains.
The Very Rev Vivienne Faull, now Dean at York Minster, has become embroiled in a row after she supported Leicester's claim to the remains, which did not go down well with Yorkist supporters – who accused her of being biased because of her links to Leicester.
Appealing for calm, York Central MP Hugh Bayley said she had been subjected to abuse as a result of the dispute.
He said: "I received many letters and e-mails from members of the public about this, supporting burial in York.
"Most are thoughtful and well argued but some are inflammatory. Talking to the Dean of York, some that she has received are so extreme she has referred them to the police." Reported by This is 3 days ago.
