Fire crews spend night fighting factory blaze in Leicester This is Leicestershire -- Dozens of firefighters from stations across the city and county have spent the night battling a factory blaze. Crews were called to a Reusable and Disposable Catering Supplies in Trevanth Road, on Troon Way Industrial Estate, Leicester, at 11.46pm, last night. A fire service spokesman said: "Two pumps from the city's Eastern Station attended the incident. "The factory, manufacturing paper and plastic, was well alight and they immediately requested assistance from six extra pumps." Jets from at least three aerial platforms have been trained on the blaze through the night. It is not thought anyone was in the building at the time but no-one is believed to have been hurt. The fire was reported by staff who were working on the packaging firm's production line when the blaze started. They were all out of the building when the firefighters arrived. Crews are still at the scene damping down the fire and a salvage operation is underway. Fire investigators are expected on the scene and crews are likely to remain there for the rest of the day. Reported by This is 17 hours ago.
