Leicester-born Daniel Best, who was jailed indefinitely in 2007 for kidnapping his then-girlfriend, was reported missing from an open prison in Suffolk on Friday, July 5. Suffolk Police have confirmed that Best was arrested in Ipswich on Saturday. In a statement, the force said: "He is currently in police custody and will now be returned to the prison system." Members of the public were warned not to approach Best, who lived in the Saffron Lane and New Parks areas of Leicester. He was jailed after he kidnapped the 17-year-old woman after she tried to end her relationship with him. A judge passed an indeterminate prison sentence on the then 19-year-old because of the risk he was believed to pose to the public.
