Police appeal for witnesses after assault on man in Belgrave Gate, Leicester

Leicestershire Police investigating an assault on a 25-year old man in Belgrave Gate have released images of a man they would like to identify and trace in connection with the incident.

The incident took place at about 5.20pm on Wednesday September 3 when the victim was walking with a friend along Belgrave Gate, Leicester, towards the Clock Tower, and was approached by a white man.

The victim was pushed and punched in the face. He was later treated in hospital for minor injuries.

PC 2093 Jeff Pritchard, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a nasty assault on a man and we have released the CCTV images to help identify the suspect.

“We would like to speak with anyone who recognises him or who may have witnessed the assault.”
