![Lewis Moody backing Bath Rugby ahead of Leicester Tigers battle]()
This is Bath -- Former England captain Lewis Moody is backing Bath Rugby to win the battle of his former clubs on Friday when they travel to take on Leicester Tigers. The two meet at Welford Road in the final round of LV= Cup pool fixtures and ex-flanker Moody believes Bath will come out on top to book an all-important home semi-final. Bath already have an unassailable lead at the top of Pool 3 but Leicester's Pool 2 is the only one of the four groups yet to be decided. Tigers currently sit third and must better the results of both Exeter Chiefs and Sale Sharks, who travel to Worcester Warriors and Ospreys respectively, if they are to progress. Both sides are missing a handful of players to Stuart Lancaster's England squad but Moody is relishing the opportunity to see the next generation break through. "I can see Bath potentially nicking that one, with the form they are showing at the minute," said Moody, who finished his career at The Rec after 15 years as a Tigers player. "They are obviously missing a reasonable proportion of their squad through England call-ups but I think one thing they have done well in the last couple of seasons is bring guys through. "Leicester have had a tough run of games recently and their injury list is well-documented, but they would never use that as an excuse. "Leicester always seem to be able to pull a big win out of the bag when it's needed so I wouldn't write Leicester off but I think Bath go into this game as favourites." Bath have won three from three so far in the LV= Cup but need another win on Friday to guarantee them a last-four tie at The Rec. If they can secure it, 71-cap England international Moody believes Bath can go all the way to the final. The 35-year-old said: "It is massive motivation for any side, whatever competition it is. "You look at the Heineken Cup and how hard-fought those games are for the home draw and the same will be the case for the LV= Cup. "Those semi-final home games are all-important. Bath, with the form they are in at the minute, you would be confident they would beat whoever they came up against at The Rec in a semi-final." *Be part of the rugby family at the LV= Cup final at Sandy Park, Exeter on Sunday, March 16.
