![Leicester Riders star Anthony Rowe out for season]()
This is Leicestershire -- Leicester Riders star Anthony Rowe is out for the season after suffering a serious injury on Friday night. Rowe collapsed early in the second half in Riders' last second defeat at Newcastle Eagles in the BBL Championship. The England International was on a breakaway and his leg went out from under him as he attacked the basket. There was a long delay before Rowe was stretchered off and taken immediately to a hospital in Newcastle. The 6ft 8in forward was undergoing surgery in Leicester today for a ruptured patella tendon, which usually means a minimum of six months before he can play again. Riders Managing Director Russell Levenston said: ""It is very tough for the player, who had a long period out when he was at Plymouth with an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament), before he joined the Riders. "In fact, Anthony's immediate thought when he went down was it might be the other ACL, so to that extent, he was slightly relieved. "Now it is about getting Anthony treatment, so he can commence his recovery. It is undoubtedly a blow to the team."
